FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I invest in real estate?

There are two answers here; one is short and the other is much longer. We'll include the short one here, but we recommend that you read the long one in  Our President's Blog.

Briefly, the question is not why you should invest in real estate, but when. If you live in America, there is a greater than 90% chance that you either already have or you will buy real estate in your lifetime. When you buy real estate you have invested in it, so it makes sense to have the knowledge to do it properly and profitably. At Investors United, we believe that real estate isn't just a roof over your head, it is the means to secure your future.

Are there opportunities in today's real estate market?

If you ask an Investors United Member they'll tell you that there is no single real estate market; instead, there are dozens of real estate markets and sub-markets. Within a single zip code, for example, there are thousands or even tens of thousands of properties, and hundreds of opportunities to profit if you know how and where to look. The job of a real estate investor is not to predict the will of the market as a whole, but to determine the profitability of the individual opportunity in front of him or her.

     What is your completion rate?

Our five-year study shows that 89% of Student Members who kept their tuition current graduated. In other words, NINE OUT OF TEN successfully completed our program. Follow  Our Guarantee

and you'll earn at least your tuition before you graduate - because we will stand by you until you do. See our five-year study.

What percentage of Investors United Student Members succeed?

There are Members who have enrolled in our school because they wanted to buy a new home, to buy it right, and to get the best possible terms. When they did, they considered it a success. People with large portfolios of property have enrolled in our school looking to learn new methods to manage their portfolios more efficiently and more profitably. When they learned techniques that increased their bottom lines without increasing their effort, they considered it a success. We have Members that have never owned a piece of property in their lives, but have controlled property to sell at auction. They have earned six figures in a year and they considered that a success. Can you succeed here at Investors United? It depends on your goal. We will give you the tools, we will show you the way, and we will stand by you; how you define your success is up to you.

How is Investors United different from other real estate courses?

Our course is the most comprehensive training program for real estate investing ever developed. We stand behind this statement and we have never been challenged on it. Our Guarantee is unmatched in our industry. Please take a moment to read Our Guarantee here.

Is Investors United accredited by the Better Business Bureau?

Yes.   You can verify our exemplary record here.

Maintaining the highest standards of business ethics has always been a part of who we are at Investors United. Our awards, our community service leadership, and our Better Business Bureau rating all simply point out what we believe as an organization - that treating people fairly is the best way to do business.

What if I didn't do well in school? Is Investors United above my ability?

People who can grasp basic educational concepts and who like working with others shouldn't have any problem completing the program. Most people learn better "hands-on" and that's why learning-by-doing is a cornerstone of the Investors United philosophy on education. We require our Student Members to be actively involved in real estate almost immediately. "Earn while you learn"® is not only our motto it's our method, and perhaps it's the biggest reason why you can thrive at IU.

What are some of the qualifications of Investors United's faculty?

Investors United's faculty are successful real estate professionals, real-world experts who do what they teach and teach what they do. The IU faculty consists of award-winning business leaders, Fortune 500 senior executives, outstanding entrepreneurs, and professors from the world's leading educational institutions.   View our faculty biographies.

Does your Faculty do what they teach and teach what they do...or do they just teach?

Our Faculty follows the belief that teaching is an excellent way to develop new business. Investors know that information changes over time. Teaching at our school allows our Faculty to stay current on industry trends and collaborate with other Members - and with each other - to create profitable partnerships.

Do I have to share my profits with Investors United?

No. Your real estate investing business is yours to run however you wish. Still, partnerships are always available for those who look for them; our name is Investors United for a reason.

What kind of people are Investors United Members?

Investors United members are probably a lot like you. We share a passion for learning, building income, and improving our lifestyles. We are people from all walks of life, of varying age, race, religion, education, profession, and income level. At IU, you'll meet both aspiring and accomplished investors, college professors and college students, inventors, business owners, law enforcement officers, military personnel, everyday wage-earners, and even a few local celebrities. The diversity of our Membership is one of the things that make Investors United great.

Do Investors United Members create competition for each other?

No. With millions of properties, tax liens, and notes per state, there is no shortage of opportunity. Conventional investors run into competition and end up paying retail because they frequent the same real estate sources. Investors United members choose from dozens of real estate prospecting methods to identify profitable opportunities and avoid competition.

How fast can I get started?

You can start examining leads with instructors on your first day of class. To view more about how quickly you can start, take a look at  Our Program.

Do I have to wait until graduation to begin earning?

Absolutely not. We encourage our Student Members to begin their real estate investment efforts with their first class. As we've said before, our method is described by our motto: "Earn while you learn."®

Can I take just one course at Investors United?

You can enroll in our entire curriculum or you can take single courses, in person or online. While we believe that the depth of knowledge required for sustained success in the real estate investing industry cannot be communicated to students in a single course, our individual courses translate specific ideas and methods that help those who choose to invest in real estate enter into transactions with greater knowledge, allowing them to increase their profits, to close transactions with greater facility, and to yield higher returns on their investments. To figure out which course or courses are right for you or to apply for admission,  speak with our Admissions Department .

How can I fit Investors United into my busy schedule?

Classes are held once a week in the evening for two hours; you can attend in person or participate interactively online. Every class is also carefully recorded, so you can view it at your convenience on-demand. If you can dedicate about four to five hours per week to your real estate investing business, you can make it work. If you don't think you can, then don't commit to any course - let alone ours. Our Members learn that time, not money, is their most valuable asset. You'll be surprised at how much extra time you can find when you're truly motivated to succeed.

I'm impatient. What if I really want to hit the ground running?

Then you are Investors United material. What are you waiting for? Start here: 888.242.2404. Are you still reading this?

What if I can't afford tuition?

Investors United is committed to finding ways to make our tuition affordable for those who are accepted for enrollment. We offer financing to qualified applicants. To find out whether or not our education fits into your financial picture,  sit down with our Admissions representative.

     What happens after graduation?

Upon completion of the Investors United course, you will have experience in the real estate investing business, but the relationship you have built with our organization will by no means be over. Your time as a Student Member will undoubtedly have exposed you to valuable insights, to profitable partnerships, and to loyal friends. As an Alumni Member, you will be entitled to continue developing your real estate investing business at IU through Alumni Courses, networking events, and ongoing access to our support systems.

What standards does Investors United use for admitting students?

We're looking for people who will maintain the reputation we've developed, people who believe in themselves, who are committed to becoming successful, who have a "can do" attitude, and a belief that they will make their goals a reality. Prospective students are evaluated based on several factors including attitude, communication skills, organizational skills, leadership qualities, community service, personal references, and financial status.

Do I receive college credits for the Investors United course?

No. If you are looking for college credit, then ask yourself what you want to accomplish. Degrees are not an end. People often mistake them for an end when in fact they are a means to an end. Can the same goal be accomplished with money? If so, then the fastest way to achieve your goal is to study how to earn money. At Investors United, we do not prepare people for gainful employment in a recognized profession; we teach people how to earn income through real estate investing. Real estate is not just land, it is a medium for the generation of wealth. If that is what you want to learn, then we are the ones who can teach you. Otherwise, go to college - the value of education will be taught to you clearly in the years you will be repaying your student loans.

“How’s business? Business is great because I’ve surrounded myself with professional real estate investors who know the things that I don’t. We learn from each other, we arrange transactions and create profit together. It’s win-win for everybody.”

"I settled on my house in Manassas today.  My net profit was $70,000. This has been a great day.  Really, it's exciting because it was a true no-money-down deal.  I just needed to share that with you because I'm exploding!  I also wanted to say thank you to Investors United. I'm out here doing this stuff and guess where I learned it from."
