My husband and I recently graduated from Investors United (July 2008). We bought the Carlton
Sheets course and had been trying to invest for 17 years with zero results. We did our first
deal a few months after joining IU. The one-on-one experience with instructor Joe Bucci was
priceless. In fact, all of the instructors are great. We also want to thank Ian for taking a
personal interest in our progress. Investors United has been nothing less than the best thing
we've ever done financially.

Dear Ian, please accept my sincere thanks for being part of the University of Baltimore Mid-town
Anchor program. In fact, it never would have happened if you hadn't "flown the flag." Actually
several people told me that they enjoyed that part of the program, especially world events being
what they are. If there is anything that I or the Merrick School of Business can do for you,
please let me know. Your help on the Advisory Board has been invaluable, and I look forward to
working with you over the next few years.
Sincerely,
Dr. Deborah Ford, Chair
Department of Economics, Finance, and Management

It's been a year or more since I've spoken to you, but hopefully you remember who I am. I was
the "force" behind Donald Peterson. First I want to thank you for everything you did for Donald
and I when we were working the real estate market together. I learned an incredible amount of
information from the materials, books, sample contracts/ clauses and most of all from the hands
on experience that I acquired working with Donald and your school, Investors United School of
Real Estate.
Because of your materials, I learned how to search public records of all kinds, I learned how
to research and do my own preliminary title searches at the court house and discovered that all
land records and court actions can be researched often from the comfort of my own office. Your
list of search websites was incredible and provided me what I needed to find owners of
properties. And more..
In the summer of 2006 I began to pursue and purchase properties (vacant land) in Washington DC.
Mostly Anacostia, Deanwood, Randall Heights, etc. with my own company (Havilah Real Property
Svcs., LLC). I purchased more than 52 properties (all vacant land) worth more than $18,000,000.
Of course, every one of them were in tax sale foreclosure and had back taxes on them.
But, I entered the fray and became the defendant on all civil actions and started to redeem the
properties as I sold them and got enough money out of the ones that I sold to redeem the
properties in Anacostia that I wanted to hold for 5 years. I have redeemed and now own free and
clear more than 4 million dollars worth of property in Anacostia by the Metro.
Everything that I learned through your school and using the materials that Donald brought home
were applicable to DC as well. It was great having all those resources at my fingertips. I saw
Donald's video on your website and thought he sounded and looked great.
If you ever want to sit down and talk about what I have accomplished (as a single woman in a
man's world) let me know and I'd love to meet with you and tell you my story. It shows that
with a little bit of money and a lot of courage anyone can be successful in the real estate
market. It just takes the right resources and the right "community" behind you to encourage and
help you along.
There's enough real estate out there and enough land deals that everyone can be successful.
What amazed me was all the different ways one can work with real estate and make money. For me,
personally, I decided to focus on purchasing properties in distress directly from the owners
before they were foreclosed upon and then set about the task of redeeming them from tax sale.
Much thanks for all you (and your Dad) did.

Just to bring you up to date, I now have three rental properties all with great cash flow and I
intend to add two more this year. My goal is to buy and rehab three house a year. I know I've
had a slow start, but I am now kicking into high gear. Thanks for all the training.

This week has been a huge step for me. I set a goal to make two trial offers tomorrow on some
properties. Making offers is something I've been really afraid of doing, so thanks for all your
help and all the time you've taken with me. Now I'm excited! This school has been a great,
positive experience. I would recommend Investors United to anyone who is looking for a future
in Real Estate.

Mr. Parrish,
I recently discovered your podcasts and you will be happy to know that yours is my favorite when
it comes to real estate investing. I really enjoy the fact that you provide a lot of very
substantial information as opposed to some of the other REI clubs whose guests beat around the
bush for an hour just so you buy their products. I am very eager to start investing but I am a
little scared. You seem to be a very accessible person and I wonder if I could bother you with
questions every now and then.
By the way, happy belated birthday.
Sincerely,
Jose A. Thompson

I attended Saturday's Real Estate Exchange Event, and I just wanted to say that it was
fantastic! I see a great deal of integrity and excellence in your business and I see that at
Investors United success overflows. I enjoyed Ian's opening and encouragement to stay positive
and go after goals, and I appreciated your emphasis on taking action. I look forward to visiting
again and getting to know you and your team. Thanks again for your commitment to teaching
others real estate investment with excellence, integrity, and ethics.
