1980
More than ever before, 38-year-old investor Charles Parrish is experiencing financial success. But with a new baby on the way, Charles makes a life-changing decision to earn more in fewer hours. Charles decides to multiply himself by teaching his real estate knowledge to others. "By sharing my real estate expertise to help others become successful, my students will become potential partners." And so was born his real estate consulting business, Investors United Limited.
1999
For Charles, investment real estate is a passion, an enthusiasm that multiplies when his son, Ian Charles, joins him as a full-time partner. Ian recognizes the amazing good they can extend to others through real estate education; and with that compelling vision and his own investment experience Ian reshapes the consulting business, establishing Investors United School of Real Estate. It is the first school in the United States to specialize in investment real estate education, offering a complete real estate curriculum, hands-on field trips, and--most important to students--personal mentoring.
2000
In its first year, the school's unique "earn while you learn"® method attracts overwhelming interest among an adult student population ranging from business professionals to the unemployed, from college professors to recent college graduates. The school purchases new chairs, tables and computer resources for the students. Conference table meetings evolve into classroom discussions. Soon, the school outgrows its Maryland Avenue campus.
2002
Using the same real estate trading strategies they teach, Investors
United negotiates and purchases a new Baltimore Campus. Newly renovated,
the 27,000 square foot campus at 6721 Harford Road offers state-of-the
art classrooms offices, a multi-media computer lab, a real estate resource
center and library, and meeting suites.
2004
This year, Investors United members invest $10,500,000.00 in urban revitalization, employ 13,500 people, and create hundreds of new homeowners. Given the IU Mission, "To empower members to create income through real estate and to improve communities," the school is recognized with Citations for "outstanding leadership" and "commitment to the community," by both the Governor of Maryland and the Mayor of Baltimore.
2005
The popularity of Investors United grows to such a point that the school gears up to open its doors in additional cities nation-wide, and to offer investment real estate courses via the Internet.
